Created by Jenny Bear and inspired by collection piece 'Challans Coverlet' (1811), the Lincolnshire Posy is a thoughtful modern take on a much-loved original.

This set features beautifully hand-drawn patterns, with fold-out A3 pages for ease and practicality while working. Whether you're looking to recreate a classic or add a touch of heritage to your own designs, this pattern makes a brilliant addition to your quilting collection.

The inspiration behind Jenny Bear’s Lincolnshire Posy pattern, the Challan’s Coverlet, measuring 215cm x 233cm, is a wonderful appliqué frame coverlet made from printed dress cottons, with a wide outer frame of furnishing fabric. The central circular medallion has petal-shaped pieces forming a large flower, which is outlined by a zigzag edged square frame, with surrounding borders of alternating triangles and zigzag shapes. The Coverlet has an embroidered name and date in cross stitch in the centre ‘S. Challans 1811’. Whilst the exact provenance of this piece remains unknown, a potential maker, Sophia Challans, has been identified. Sophia lived in Lincolnshire and married Thomas Leake in 1811.
