This bright and breezy cot quilt uses a clever technique involving hexagons and 60 degree triangles that avoids those fiddly Y-seams! The finished quilt measures approx. 42 x 49" and would make a lovely bed quilt for a child, or a lap quilt for snuggling under in front of the TV.
As you don't need much fabric for these cute hexagons, you can delve into that treasured stash of precious fat quarters you've been saving for a special project!
This 8-page pattern includes fabric requirements, cutting and sewing diagrams, full-size templates and a colour layout plan. Also included are suggestions for a pieced backing and for quilting your finished top. Plus, Helping Hand tips and links to my online tutorials will guide you along the way.
To make this quilt, you will need:
• Seven long or fat quarters (or an assortment of scraps, enough for forty-four
4½" x 5½" rectangles)
• 2.5m white-on-white (or you could use plain white)
• 35cm co-ordinating fabric for binding - if you are using the seven long/fat quarters, you will have enough for a pieced binding.
• 46" x 53" backing and wadding.
