Pattern Box Decorative Floral Free Motion Quilting Cushion Pattern
Join us as we explore the wonderful world of British quilting heritage through our exclusive series of patterns inspired by The Quilters’ Guild Museum Collection. Each pattern introduces a different skill or technique as a way to develop and broaden your quilting knowledge, whilst offering a chance to challenge yourself — without biting off more than you can chew.
We invited expert quilter, designer and author Sheena Norquay to select a piece from our Collection that inspired her and to create a new pattern.
Sheena chose the Simple Frame Quilt from The Quilters' Guild Museum Collection, which dates from 1780-1810 as her inspiration for the pattern.
This pattern works using motifs that you can use to develop your free motion quilting skills in a variety of ways, with C curves, S curves, turns and both slower and faster movements. Developing these techniques on a cushion sized project is a great way to make beautiful pieces, without the bulk of a larger quilt.
The motifs can be rearranged to make new patterns, as Sheena demonstrates here with the blue cushion variation.
The finished cushion size is approx 16".
This pattern is available in both digital and paper formats.
